National MP Chris Tremain won the seat of Napier in 2005 with a 3,581 majority. This was the first time in 51 years that Labour lost its Hawke's Bay stronghold.
In the 2008 election, he increased his majority to 9,018.
Chris was the Senior Government Whip until after the 2011 General Election. He was then promoted and served as Minister of Internal Affairs, Minister of Local Government, and Associate Minister of Tourism resigning in January 2014, returning to the back bench until his retirement at the next general election.
Chris is available to meet constituents in his Napier Electorate office.
